God spoke to you yesterday: learning to recognize His voice

The popular song goes:

“Jesus knows all about our struggles
He will guide till the day is done
There’s not a friend like the lowly Jesus
No, not one. No not one.”

It’s interesting to know of God’s love for us, so much so He is willing to teach us daily as we go about our lives. But many find this hard to believe and struggle with the truth and reality of God ever speaking to His children.

This is why I find this book fascinating as it touches in detail how God has been speaking and still speaks to us daily as we go about our day.

The author wrote on what He termed as, ‘The Dominant Way’ God speaks and my eyes were opened to the truth that God has indeed been speaking to me more often than I realized. What interested me the most was that God used similar media to speak to men who went on to achieve and perform great exploits all through the Bible, including our Lord Jesus Christ!

The book went further to show just how God speaks to us and how we can position ourselves to receive more of such communication with our Father in heaven.

In all, I was blessed reading this book. I am comforted even more of God’s love for me, that even in the times I thought He was silent, He did speak to me, and I trust that as many as read this book would have their eyes opened to the truth that God does speak to us even in our darkest and lowest moments where it seems we are alone.

Be comforted with these words of Jesus:

“My sheep hear My voice…” John 10:27. 

The title is both compelling and engaging. It draws you into the divine action in a present continuous and affirmative sense even before you begin to read the book.

It speaks to your condition, as the Quakers say and that is just the title- God spoke to you yesterday.

The book is a book of precepts and principles. Line by line, building block by building block, with particular attention to the nitty gritty details of our daily interaction with our God and Father of the Lord Jesus Christ and with the Holy Spirit our guide and Paraclete.

The treatment of life in the spirit and the operations of the flesh is one of the grainiest and most granular I have seen outside of Watchman Nee’s, Spiritual Man and The Latent Power of the Soul. It gives you a full orbed integration of these subjects and shows you how they relate to the subject of knowing that God speaks. Our God is a speaking, communicating and communing God. A God who enters into so close a union with His people, that His voice ultimately becomes indistinguishable from theirs.
This is an accessible book. Easy to read, though not easy and certainly not simplistic. It’s a book which has been variously described as a “tool” and is thus, not a book to be read casually and dumped, but to be held by your side and referred to and dipped in constantly until it literally becomes flesh and a part of your daily repertoire and practice. God spoke to you yesterday!
That you did not hear Him, is on you.
But now you have the right tool in your hand.

The Lord hears you!

For anyone who has ever wanted to understand how God speaks to the human soul today, this book is a masterpiece!
